Four friends have hidden a deadly secret for ten years — an incident that took place during a summer vacation. When they travel to Ibiza to find closure, the past resurfaces: the twin brother of the man who died has found them.

Four inseparable friends — Paulo, a 34-year-old member of parliament; Camilla, a lawyer working between Portugal and Spain; Constança, a sophisticated criminal attorney; and Samira, a charismatic entrepreneur — have kept a steadfast tradition since their university days: dining together every Friday night. But one evening at the restaurant “Mama Mia,” too much wine and nostalgia push them to break a silence they have maintained for ten years.

It all began in their youth, during a summer trip to Vilamoura. That night changed their lives forever. While looking for an ice cream shop, they heard the screams of a woman — Alice — being attacked by a Spanish tourist, Ruan Alonzo. When they tried to help her, a violent struggle ensued: Ruan pulled out a knife, and in the chaos, Constança struck him. The attacker fell against a metal fence and died instantly. Paralyzed by fear, the four hid the body and destroyed all evidence before fleeing at dawn. The case made headlines but was never solved. And Alice, the victim, vanished without a trace.

Ten years later, the memory still haunts them. Hoping to finally heal, Samira proposes a trip to Ibiza. What was meant to be a therapeutic escape soon turns into a nightmare. At the resort, Paulo believes he sees the man they killed in Vilamoura. The others see him too — the resemblance to Ruan is uncanny. They later discover the truth: Ruan had a twin brother, David Alonzo, heir to a powerful Ibizan family involved in shady business dealings.

Soon after, a sightseeing tour turns into a trap. Their guide leads them to a hidden fortress where David is waiting — he kidnaps them. He reveals that he knows who they are and seeks vengeance for his brother’s death. But just as all hope seems lost, Alice reappears. Now David’s partner, she pulls out a gun and confesses to having orchestrated the entire plan. She explains that her mother had a relationship with the Alonzo brothers’ father, a man who abused and mistreated her for years, destroying her life. Alice confirms that Ruan tried to rape her that night and that she only wanted to take revenge on the Alonzo family, marked by violence and abuse.

The housekeeper — a maternal figure to David — corroborates Alice’s revelations, confronting him with the truth about his family. Devastated, David decides to end the cycle of violence and frees the four friends.

Back in Portugal, each of them starts anew, finally freed from the past. But on Paulo’s birthday, a mysterious letter reminds them that old wounds do not heal easily: it is an invitation to the wedding of David and Alice. Once again, the past comes knocking.
