The discovery of several files on Elena’s phone dramatically changes the direction of the investigation. By reconstructing the events, the police determine that Elena was murdered to prevent the truth from coming to light.

The search for Miguel culminates in a final, tense confrontation in which Alba also becomes trapped. The resolution of the case confirms the stepfather’s responsibility and forces everyone involved to confront the devastating consequences of family secrets silenced for years.

In Red Moon, the murder of a hunter leads Yago Reyes and Aines Collado to reopen several unsolved cases. They soon discover that all the victims share a common link: in one way or another, they were connected to various forms of animal abuse or exploitation.

The investigation leads them to Claudio Garrido, an animal rights activist deeply affected by the suffering of animals. Suspicion becomes certainty when a new murder is captured on security cameras, placing him at the scene of the crime.

However, just as the police are about to arrest him, Claudio is found dead. It is then that the inspectors discover he had not been acting alone but alongside his partner, Salvador Castillo.

The investigation reveals that the pair had embarked on a personal crusade against those they considered responsible for animal suffering. Yet while Claudio begins to question their methods and recognize shades of gray where he once saw only guilt, Salvador becomes increasingly radicalized and decides to continue alone.

Yago and Aines must reconstruct the complex relationship between the two men and stop Salvador before he kills again.

In Purple Soul, the body of Jaime Balbuena is discovered on a country road between the orange groves of Corbera, bearing two stab wounds. The autopsy reveals that he had consumed alcohol and cocaine and was killed elsewhere before his body was moved. The case is assigned to Inspectors Yago Reyes and Aines Collado.

As the investigation progresses, a long list of enemies comes to light. Jaime had a history of violence, debt, drug addiction, and numerous personal conflicts. A sex worker identifies him as the man who brutally assaulted her; two extortionists had been attempting to collect a substantial debt from him; and an old altercation had left several young men seeking revenge. Everything appears to point toward a settling of scores.

Gradually, however, the investigators’ attention shifts to Lucía, Jaime’s wife. Testimonies from relatives and friends paint a very different picture from the one Jaime projected in public: for years he had subjected his wife to violence, threatened her, and spread fear throughout the family. The evidence begins pointing toward Lucía, and the police even arrest her when indications emerge linking her to the transport of the body.

Just when the case appears solved, Jaime’s grandfather José approaches the police and confesses to the crime. He claims to have acted in order to stop his grandson from continuing to harm his family and accepts full responsibility. The case appears closed.

But Yago remains convinced that certain pieces do not fit. Eventually, he uncovers the truth: on the night of the crime, Jaime arrived home out of control, intent on taking his children and once again assaulting Lucía. During the attack, Ainhoa, the couple’s eldest daughter, intervened to protect her mother and stabbed him in the neck. José then chose to confess to protect the girl and spare her from carrying the consequences of what had happened.

The novel concludes by showing the deep scars violence leaves on an entire family and how a child, cornered by years of fear and abuse, ultimately did the only thing she believed could save the people she loved.
