BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE
Ana Requena is a journalist and writer, co-founder of the media outlet elDiario.es, where she leads the Gender and Nidos sections, focusing on feminism, motherhood, and parenting. In 2014, she also created the blog ‘Micromachismos’ within the same newspaper to expose everyday sexist situations.
She is one of the driving forces behind the Spanish female journalists movement for the International Feminist Strike on March 8, 2018.
She is the author of feminist essay novels, including “Feminismo Vibrante” and “Intensas”.
RELEVANT INFORMATION
For her work in the press, she has received the Non-Sexist Communication Award from the Association of Women Journalists of Catalonia, the Imparables Award of Castilla-La Mancha for her contribution to gender equality in the media, the Pilar Blanco Award for Sociolabour Communication from the Ateneo 1st of May Union Foundation, and the ‘Women to Follow’ Award in the communication category.
