Gastón Virkel is an Argentine writer, screenwriter, and editor with degrees in advertising and psychology. He developed part of his creative career in the audiovisual field, writing and directing film projects before establishing himself as a fiction writer. His work is marked by a critical—often ironic—view of contemporary urban life, as well as an affinity for dirty realism and noir.
Virkel is the author of several novels and short story collections and was awarded the Florida Book Awards in 2023. Alongside his work as an author, he is involved in the development of documentaries, series, and films, consolidating his position as a plural and versatile contemporary voice in Spanish-language literature.
