Giovanna Rivero is a Bolivian writer, short story writer, and novelist considered one of the most original and successful voices in contemporary Spanish-language literature. With a background in Spanish American Literature, her work is situated within the realms of the fantastic, Gothic realism, and genre fiction.

Rivero has been internationally recognized as one of the 25 emerging literary talents by the Guadalajara International Book Fair (2011), and her work has been published in Bolivia, the United States, Spain, and Argentina. Throughout her career, she has been awarded the Santa Cruz Municipal Literature Prize, the Franz Tamayo Short Story Prize, and the BancoSol Prize for Best Book Published in Bolivia. Her book To Devour You Better won the Dante Alighieri Prize, and the short story Albumin, included in the collection, received the Cosecha Eñe Prize.
