Henar Álvarez

Henar Álvarez is a Spanish writer and comedian. She studied Audiovisual Communication at the University Rey Juan Carlos in Madrid and did a Master in Integrated Communication at the University of Alcalá. She is considered one of the most prominent voices of the new feminine humor. Besides being a comedian, she has a long career as a scriptwriter, and radio and television host. She directed a radio program on La Ser (radio station) and was the scriptwriter of the radio show Hoy por hoy. 

She was the host of many television shows like Likes, in which she works as the leader of the “FeminaCine” section of the show, analyzing the stereotypes of women throughout the history of cinema. She also participated as a columnist in El Confidencial newspaper, where she also worked on the feminist blog Con dos ovarios.

 

RELEVANT INFORMATION

The author and her team of bloggers were the winners of the 10th Annual Bitácoras Awards for La culpa es del script as the best television and film blog. Her new novel, Sour Milk (La mala leche) introduces topics of motherhood, sexual desire and feminism, and breaks the stereotypes that society has of them.
