Marta Jiménez Serrano is a Spanish writer, poet, and editor. She holds a degree in Hispanic Philology and a master’s in Literary Studies, as well as another master’s in Lettres Modernes in France, a country where she lived for several years and worked as a lecturer in Language and Literature at the Université de Lorraine. In addition to her work as an author, she has contributed to cultural magazines and worked in the publishing field.
For her work as a poet, she was awarded the runner-up prize of the 2020 Adonáis Poetry Prize, one of the most prestigious awards for young authors in the Spanish language.
She later published the novel Proper Names (2021), which was selected among the best literary debuts of the year by El Cultural and was a finalist for the Prix du Premier Roman de Chambéry.
After selling tens of thousands of copies, she published Oxygen (2026), an autobiographical account of a near-death experience that established her as one of the leading voices in contemporary Spanish narrative.
