Vanessa Montfort is a novelist and playwright, and she is considered as one of the most outstanding voices in contemporary Spanish literature. She graduated in Information Sciences, and has published several novels that explore different genres, varying from thriller to period drama. Her works have been published in anthologies and critical studies books in Europe, the United States, Latin America and Asia, and she has received international recognition from the Order of the Discoverers of St. John’s University of New York.

Vanessa Montfort is the author of a number of novels and plays, including the international bestseller Mujeres que compran flores, which has been translated to 12 different languages and has been reprinted 21 times in Spain alone. This book has been a success in Germany, Italy, Argentina and Chile, and has been adapted into a play. La mujer sin nombre, Montfort’s latest novel, has been translated into Italian and Croatian and revisits the central character of her play: Firmado Léjarraga, which was a finalist for the Max Awards for best playwright.

Montfort won the Ateneo Joven de Sevilla Award, the Ateneo de Sevilla Award and the Ciudad de Zaragoza Award for best historical novel of the year.
