Vicente Marco Aguilar is a Spanish writer and playwright born in Valencia in 1966. He has developed a prolific career encompassing novels, short stories, theatre, and essays, and is distinguished by a versatile style and a strong commitment to exploring both narrative genres and the techniques of literary creation itself. He has collaborated with cultural media outlets and taken part in outreach projects aimed at bringing literature closer to the general public.
Marco Aguilar’s work has been recognized with more than fifty literary awards across a wide range of fields, including novels, short stories, and theatre. These honors include the Tiflos Novel Prize, the Jaén Novel Prize, and the Alfons el Magnànim Valencia Prize for Narrative, as well as distinctions in short story and essay competitions such as the Julio Cortázar, Alberto Lista, and Miguel de Unamuno awards. His plays have been staged in Spain and other countries, and in 2024 he received the Mediterranean Letters Award in recognition of his literary career.
