When the twins she is looking after vanish in the largest mall in America on Christmas Eve, a young Spanish nanny must find them with the help of an unexpected ally: a charming yet chaotic elf.
Lola, a young Spaniard living in Minnesota as an au pair, accepts one last task before her vacation: taking the three children she cares for—eight-year-old twins Finn and Sophie, and baby Olivia—to the Mall of America, the largest shopping center in the U.S., for the classic Christmas photo with Santa Claus. What seemed like a simple outing quickly turns into a disaster when the twins disappear into the crowd just before reaching Santa’s booth.
With Olivia in her arms and on the verge of panic, Lola begins a frantic, against-the-clock search throughout the mall. Soon she crosses paths with a mall worker dressed as an elf—young, handsome, and with great energy—who, drawn to Lola, decides to join the mission. Together, they embark on a chaotic race through the mall, full of chases, misunderstandings, security guards, soaked T-shirts, stolen walkie-talkies, and countless obstacles in their attempt to find the children.
Between the Ferris wheel, the aquarium, and the mirror maze, Lola and her improvised partner begin to click perfectly: their chemistry sparks, and the attraction between them intensifies. Meanwhile, the mall turns into a colorful stage where quirky secondary characters come to life: a grumpy photographer unlucky in love, a shy security guard who flirts with desserts, and another cocky elf who ends up hitting it off with a tough female guard.
The final clue comes when Olivia utters the word “treasure,” triggering a lightbulb moment for Lola: the twins are playing a pirate treasure hunt with hidden clues scattered throughout the mall. Lola, Olivia, and the elf finally track them down at an animal shelter, dressed as pirates and proudly showing off a “kraken” stolen from the aquarium—which, of course, turns out to be nothing more than a regular fish.
After a heartfelt apology and a light explanation to the parents, Lola manages to keep her job. That same night, she has a date with the elf, whose name, fittingly, is Noel. What began as a chaotic day turns into the start of a tender relationship full of chemistry.
