Two families, two worlds… and Dani smack-dab in the middle.
Dani is ten years old and, since he can remember (when his parents separated and decided to share custody), he lives one week at his father’s house and another at his mother’s house. Two radically opposite worlds. His father’s house is very conservative, where order and discipline reign, but in his mother’s house, there are very progressive ideas, good vibes and a certain chaos. This is Dani’s weekly journey from one family to another and trying to adapt to two very different ways of seeing life; two very different worlds.
RELEVANT DATA: Like society itself, Dani and Family(s) (Dani y familias) is a hilarious TV series project that features a wide range of characters and social spectrums, with contemporary English-language references such as Modern Family and The Goldbergs, or the Spanish series’ Vida Perfecta or Mira lo que has hecho.
Dionisio Pérez has extensive experience as a screenwriter for film and television. He was nominated for a Goya Award from the Spanish Film Academy for Best Original Screenplay for Cenizas del cielo. He has written the films La isla del viento and Lágrimas negras, and is director and screenwriter of El regalo de Silvia and Amanecer en Asia.
He has been a screenwriter on series’ such as Amar en Tiempos Revueltos (produced by Diagonal TV for the Spanish TVE channel), Bandolera (produced by Diagonal TV for the Antena 3 television channel) and Servir y Proteger (produced by Radio Televisión Española in collaboration with the production company Plano a Plano), among others.
Alberto Rubio’s experience has been more focused on theater; he is the author of several published and premiered plays such as Ladridos, El Desván de Shakespeare and El corral del tiempo…. He has also ventured in radio dramas (Silencio se habla of Spanish National Radio Station), in cinema in several short films and in a film project with a grant from the Ministry of Culture: Amargo paraíso.
