When the valley’s summer contest requires competing with grandparents, four kids without close family post an online ad to find theirs. A fun and heartwarming adventure — perfect for family content.
In a remote valley in the Pyrenees, an old legend says the north wind brings bad luck — especially to the northern residential area. That’s where the Urbanites live, a group of modern kids who are determined to win this year’s summer contest organized by the mayor. Officially meant to unite the children of the valley, the contest really fuels rivalry between four groups: the Urbanites, the Rurals (farmers’ kids), the Locals (from the town), and the Outsiders (tourists’ kids).
This year comes with a twist: each group must compete with their grandparents. And that’s where the trouble begins. The Urbanites don’t have any available grandparents. Kiko lives only with his father — his famous adventurer grandfather passed away years ago. Angi, the natural leader, doesn’t have any either. Carmen, a mini-grandma in personality, does have grandparents but they live far away. And Tono, the newcomer, has a lovely grandmother who unfortunately suffers from Alzheimer’s.
That’s when Angi comes up with a brilliant idea: post an online ad to look for grandparents. And it works. Soon, five seniors step up to help: a sweet elderly couple, a gay couple without children, and the irreverent Amalia — who shatters every stereotype of what a grandmother should be. Everything seems on track, until the young and arrogant owner of the housing development, Jonathan Golden-Tooth, expels them: no old people allowed in his “modern paradise.”
The kids secretly hide their “grandparents” at home and keep training… until the day of the contest, when Golden-Tooth tries to sabotage them. But then comes the big reveal: Jonathan is actually Gustav Golden-Tooth, his own grandfather, who had surgery to look young! When Carmen pulls the thread that exposes his lie, Gustav realizes that aging isn’t a curse — and joins the team.
And there’s one more twist: Amalia turns out to be Kiko’s real grandmother, estranged from her son after the death of the famous adventurer. The truth finally comes out, and the family reconciles.
Even though the Outsiders win the contest, the Urbanites achieve their own victory: they’ve built a new family with their adoptive grandparents, reconnected with their roots… and shown that age is not a weakness, but a strength.
