After dying and coming back to life on the same day, a Spanish mother and an American police officer become bound by an inexplicable event: their souls can travel and awaken in each other’s bodies. They soon discover that this supernatural bond may be the only key to stopping a serial killer—and to saving each other.
On March 22, three people die at the same time in different parts of the world: Josh Adams, a police officer in Montana; Adriana Serrano, a Spanish woman; and Derek Jones, a man obsessed with the zodiac and Tarot. Forty seconds later, all three come back to life. From that moment on, something inexplicable binds them together—a connection that transcends body, space, and time.
Josh and Adriana soon discover, with astonishment and confusion, that their souls begin to switch bodies without warning. He is intermittently trapped in the life of a woman bearing physical and emotional scars; she is forced, at times, to inhabit the body of an American police officer tormented by his wife’s infidelity. Within this strange connection, a growing complicity emerges, and their relationship evolves into a love story that defies all logic.
At the same time, Josh is confronted with a series of ritualistic murders that shake Montana. The victims are found with their throats slit and marked with astrological symbols. Each crime coincides with a change of zodiac sign and a Tarot card: The Emperor (Aries), The Empress (Taurus), The Lovers (Gemini)… All signs point to a serial killer following a precise pattern. Through their collaboration enabled by the body-swapping bond, Adriana and Josh uncover the truth: behind the murders is Derek Jones, the third person resurrected on March 22.
Derek possesses the ability to perform astral travel and to manipulate the minds of vulnerable people to carry out his macabre purpose. His final plan is to complete the zodiac cycle by sacrificing Josh, whose sign closes the wheel of the zodiac. To achieve this, he manipulates Miriam, a Spanish woman desperate to reunite with her deceased daughter, and convinces her to kidnap Vega, Adriana’s daughter. In an act of redemption, Miriam confronts Derek on the spiritual plane and, by invading his body, drags him into death, breaking the bond that had kept them all trapped.
Years later, Adriana discovers that her connection with Josh not only defied distance, but time itself: while she was traveling into the future, he was moving into the past. Their timelines finally intersect in 2029, when their shared memories return, closing the circle and sealing the beginning of an impossible love story.
