Faster than Life (Más rápida que la vida)

The incredible story of the fastest girl in the world.

Dorothy Levitt: The first English woman race car driver and a pioneer of feminism. This is her fascinating life, that of a woman ahead of her time who broke down all prejudices.

London, 1903. Dorothy is all over the front pages of English newspapers after becoming the first female racing driver in the United Kingdom. Her photographs behind the wheel of her car, a De Dion, are on the front page of the newspapers. Levitt put a lot of herself to get where she got, even with the obstacles of a sexist society, in which Lord William Somerset stand out, a member of the Conservative Party against any movement made by women.

Not only did she learn to drive at a time when there were hardly any cars, but she shattered all the prejudices of the time. Levitt invented the rear-view mirror, inspired by the powder compact she used to see who was following her in the races; she rubbed shoulders with royalty, teaching Queen Alexandra to drive and giving classes to the British aristocrats of the time; and she was linked to the suffragist movement, befriending Candela Ríos, an Andalusian from Riotinto and lover of Lord Somerset.

A betrayal, a love and a great friendship will accompany Dorothy through all her successes and difficulties, in a fascinating setting: early twentieth century England, when the memory of the Victorian era joined an incipient modernity.
