Idyll is the most exclusive city in America. Only the chosen ones, who really are someone in society, can buy a home in a place that wants to recover the old essences of simple and rural life, but with all the comforts of modern life.

Beth arrives with her parents to this community, is the only daughter of a successful marriage, her father is an animator at Pixar, and her mother a high-level professional with great executive power. Despite being 16, Beth has flirted with drugs and juvenile delinquency, and now will have to adapt to this new world in knowing Bobby, partner of institute of which will become inseparable.

Together they discover that the behavior of Idyll’s inhabitants is completely abnormal, even that of their own parents, since the little favorite city of the elites holds many secrets, like a series of chain killings, of which nobody knows anything. Bobby and Beth will have to discover what horrible secret lies behind Idyll and why: Idyll’s inhabitants seem to have the peculiar liking of murdering and torturing others.


RELEVANT FACTS: Idyll is a perverse and wild novel. Elio Quiroga draws on his experience as a filmmaker by imprinting a very visual character to history, making us witness to this trip to the darkest and depraved of the human psyche. The author surprised his own and strangers in his directorial debut with ‘Fotos’ (1996), followed by ‘Cold Hour’ (2006) and ‘NO-DO’ (2009). These three films represent a strange embodiment of a kind of very personal and risky terror that has consequently had its detractors and their followers.
