Miguel Vargas Reinoso is an ex-convict who, after serving eight years in prison and surviving on a string of low-paying jobs in Zaragoza, returns to Barcelona with a single goal: to take revenge on “the Galician,” a former police officer who brutally tortured him during an interrogation years earlier, leaving him with deep physical and psychological scars. To carry out his plan, Miguel reunites with old associates, including Marujo, a drug dealer, and Nena, a former friend who now works as a dancer in a nightclub. Despite years apart, Nena still harbors feelings for him, complicating their relationship.
Miguel’s revenge takes shape through a robbery targeting the Galician, who now works as a security guard on an armored truck transporting cash. Together with Marujo and three professional criminals—García, Pérez, and Fernández—he organizes the heist. Meanwhile, Nena, determined to help, gives Miguel all the money she has earned through prostitution, driven by a love she has never fully understood. Their relationship becomes increasingly strained as Miguel struggles with the trauma that has damaged his sexuality and ability to form intimate connections, while Nena desperately tries to revive the human bond they once shared.
The second part of the story shifts focus to Salvador, the Galician, now working as a security guard. His life is a shadow of what it once was when he was a feared and respected policeman. Trapped in an unhappy marriage and distant from his children, Salvador drowns his regrets in alcohol while reminiscing about his former power. When the armored truck is attacked by Miguel’s gang, he finally comes face-to-face with his former victim. Yet in the midst of the chaos, Miguel unexpectedly spares him, taking only the money.
At the same time, Inspector Correa investigates the robbery and gradually uncovers the connection between Salvador and Miguel. As he follows the trail, he becomes a pivotal figure in the unfolding conflict, increasingly convinced that Miguel’s revenge is far from over.
The tension reaches its climax in the final act, when Miguel and Marujo kidnap Salvador’s family in order to lure him into an ambush at his own home. When Salvador arrives, Miguel’s vengeance turns savage: he rips out Salvador’s teeth, and when Salvador manages to break free, the two men engage in a brutal confrontation. Their final struggle spills out into the street, where the violence reaches extreme levels. Inspector Correa, who has crossed paths with Nena while tracking the case, becomes an essential witness to the conclusion. In the end, it is Nena who delivers the final blow, stabbing Salvador in the back and killing him in cold blood. The case becomes a chilling testament to the relentless cycle of hatred, revenge, and personal justice.
