In The Pawn Who Was Reborn, Arcadiy Bravo returns to Madrid after escaping from a Japanese organization hunting him for attempting to steal a container of human organs in Yokohama. There, he discovers that Peter Callum, leader of the Brigade, has ordered the elimination of his own team in order to conceal an extensive network of corruption and illegal trafficking. The evidence is stored on a computer motherboard capable of bringing down the entire system. Joining the investigation is Natsuki Tanaka, a young Japanese woman connected to the Keitaro organization whose parents were condemned because of Callum.

As the group attempts to recover the information and evade the mercenaries sent to hunt them down, Arcadiy maintains a complex relationship with Noa Wood, a Brigade agent whose connection to him is marked by attraction, jealousy, and distrust. When Tanaka betrays the team, Vladimir Sokolov, a Russian mercenary who grew up alongside Arcadiy and has been consumed by years of rivalry and resentment, brutally murders Riley Fox, the group’s beloved hacker. His death destroys the Brigade once and for all and unleashes a quest for revenge that will lead Arcadiy to Japan.

However, during the final operation to recover the motherboard in Tokyo, Haiden uncovers Natsuki’s betrayal, traps her inside the family estate, and orders it to be burned down.

In The Knight Who Won, Arcadiy manages to rescue Natsuki, and together they return with the Tanaka family and their allies to Magome, where they attempt to rebuild their lives while internal tensions threaten the fragile peace they have achieved. There, they discover that Sakura, Natsuki’s sister, is still alive and working as an assassin for Peter Callum. At the same time, Haiden, whom Peter intends to eliminate for collaborating with his enemies, desperately seeks an alliance to stay alive.

While Arcadiy struggles to hold the family together amid grief, jealousy, and mistrust, they all travel to London to prevent Peter from carrying out a massacre during a gala attended by senior police officials and politicians. The accumulated betrayals, family secrets, and violence erupt in a final confrontation. Peter is executed, and Natsuki is ultimately forced to kill Haiden before she can finally build a future alongside Arcadiy.
