At the heart of the Italian mafia, Romeo Sabello, heir to a criminal clan, is forced to choose between loyalty to his bloodline and his forbidden love for Mia Lombardi, a member of the rival family, as a war of betrayal and violence threatens to destroy them both.

The Romeo saga is a noir with dark-romance undertones set in the universe of the Italian mafia, spanning Sicily, Rome, and Venice. A closed world of clans, loyalties, and violence, where power is inherited by blood and love is a weakness paid for dearly.

Its protagonist, Romeo Sabello, is the fourth son of a powerful family. Raised to obey and kill, he never wanted to lead, yet has never managed to escape the weight of his surname. Violent, brilliant, and self-destructive, Romeo lives trapped between family duty and an emotional drive that constantly pushes him to the edge.

Opposite him stands Mia Lombardi, heir to a rival mafia family. Intelligent, resilient, and scarred by violence, Mia grows up in a world that uses her as bargaining currency. Her relationship with Romeo forms the emotional core of the saga: an impossible alliance between two people raised to destroy one another.

In Romeo, Romeo Sabello is dragged into a spiral of violence when he murders a rival who invades his territory. At the same time, his family enters a crisis after his father announces his retirement, leaving the leadership uncertain. Amid this context, Romeo reunites with Mia Lombardi, his childhood love and heir to a rival mafia family on the brink of ruin.

Mia has been sent by her father to infiltrate the Sabellos and destroy them from within, while the Lombardis seal alliances with former enemies and with a Russian terrorist cell planning to assassinate Romeo.

The relationship between Romeo and Mia becomes a dangerous game charged with desire and distrust. Cornered, Romeo accepts a forced marriage to Mia as part of a larger strategy, unaware that the Lombardis’ ultimate betrayal has already been agreed upon.

The novel culminates with Romeo kidnapped after the wedding and on the verge of being tortured, and with Mia trapped by her own family, unable to save him.

In Mía, the war between the Sabellos and the Lombardis, along with their allies, fully erupts. Romeo is rescued alive after enduring brutal torture. To save him, Mia agrees to be used as a bargaining chip and becomes trapped in violence that marks her forever. Although Romeo survives, he awakens believing she betrayed him, while his drug addiction and Mia’s silence drive them apart.

The Sabello clan responds with a ruthless massacre against its enemies, and Mia is forced to prove her loyalty by participating in that violence. When the truth about what she did to protect Romeo finally comes to light, both attempt a reconciliation amid new threats and direct attacks against the family.

Pregnant with Romeo’s child and aware that love is not enough to survive in that world, Mia renounces her place by his side and takes control of her destiny, executing her own plan that leads her alone into enemy territory.

The novel ends with the war still ongoing, the couple separated, and Mia advancing toward a danger she faces without fear.

In Ineffabile, amid full-scale criminal warfare, Mia infiltrates the enemy circle to gather information, buy time, and expose its leaders. Her position allows the Sabellos to prepare a final strike that combines deception, financial pressure, and institutional backing. The reunion with Romeo solidifies their shared strategy and triggers the definitive plan against the Lombardis.

From there, the Sabello clan succeeds in isolating its adversaries: blocking their resources, breaking key alliances, and forcing them into the open. Through a carefully designed deception, the enemy leaders are lured into a false escape route and left at the Sabellos’ mercy. The final reckoning not only eliminates those responsible for the violence against the family, but also dismantles their power and brings the war between clans to an end.

In the epilogue, after the fall of the main enemies, the Sabellos attempt to rebuild, marked by loss and scars, while a new generation opens the possibility of a different future.

A dark, passionate, and ruthless saga that descends into the depths of the criminal world and reveals the price of power and love.
