When his mother is unjustly imprisoned, a fifteen-year-old boy must take care of his two siblings in a working-class neighborhood of Monterrey. Determined to prove his mother’s innocence and keep his family together, he learns to navigate a world that waits for no one, finding in fraternal love the strength to endure, fight, and reach a better future. A story of resilience by bestselling author Antonio Ramos Revillas.

In a humble neighborhood on the hillsides of Monterrey, the lives of three brothers—Efraín, Fredy, and Marcos—change forever when their mother is unjustly imprisoned for unknowingly accepting a stolen mattress from her boyfriend.

From that moment on, Efraín, the eldest brother, suddenly becomes the head of the household at just 15 years old and devotes himself entirely to the mission of getting his mother out of jail, no matter the cost, and building a future for his family. It won’t be easy, and the pressure from the neighborhood is constant.

Efraín must raise money for a lawyer, track down the real culprit—their mother’s boyfriend, who cowardly flees—and, above all, gather testimonies proving that his mother is a hardworking and honest woman. This leads him to travel through wealthy neighborhoods where his mother once worked cleaning houses. For him, every doorbell he rings is a test filled with shame, but also with courage and personal growth.

The entire process begins to affect his relationship with his brothers. Fredy, the middle child, desperate to help, dangerously approaches a neighborhood gang, believing he can earn money to pay for the legal proceedings. Marcos, the youngest, looks to Efraín as the authority figure they have both lost. The risk is real: the neighborhood is dangerous and ever-present, but they must not allow it to break the family; it must always remain their refuge.

Efraín’s struggle pays off. The trial takes place and his mother regains her freedom. However, joy coexists with a harsh reality: Fredy, now immersed in the dark world of youth gangs, disappears. Efraín, stronger and wiser, vows to find his brother, while also deciding to continue studying and working to support his family.

Salvajes tells an emotional, intimate, and family-centered adventure, filled with hope and tenderness, as it follows the journey of Efraín and his brothers through a Monterrey that is as hostile as it is vibrant.
