The story tells the life of Mónica, a young woman, and her uncle Don Sabino, a very unsociable priest which has a monotonous life. The two characters have raised Lucía, a girl who was left on the priest´s porch. The lives of the three characters proceed without any interesting event, until the day when Tomasón appears, a young man who is running away from justice for being accused of murdering a person.
RELEVANT FACTS: The play was adapted to cinema in 1925 by Luis R. Alonso.
Arniches was part of the brilliant Generation of ’98, and comedies were his specialty. Many of his plays were adapted to cinema.
