The Duchess of Talavera, Carlos\u2019 mother, is the person who puts Carmen in this position, after begging her to take care of her son. Carlos is not just ill but also jealous; he accuses Carmen of not having forgotten her previous life with Guillermo.\r\n\r\n&nbsp;\r\n\r\n<strong>RELEVANT FACTS: <\/strong><em>Stronger than love<\/em> is an excellent example of Benavente\u2019s melodramatic writing style. The story is charged with dramatic elements that could facilitate the development of the story as a television series.\r\n\r\nBenavente won the <strong>Nobel Prize in Literature<\/strong> in 1922. He treated all the theatrical genres and developed a broad gallery of human characters. Many of his plays have been taken to cinema with success and many versions for TV have been made. Benavente\u2019s dialogues are excellent, full with irony.
