The king finds the support he needs in a noble man and a Portuguese Jesuit who will help him, having the queen\u2019s consent, on their purpose. With this argument, GTB devises a funny shape of the Spanish court, and offers as a result a picaresque story.\r\n\r\n&nbsp;\r\n\r\n<strong>RELEVANT FACTS: <\/strong>It was adapted\u00a0into a film by\u00a0Imanol\u00a0Uribe\u00a0in the early\u00a090s and\u00a0won eight\u00a0Goya\u00a0awards.\r\n\r\nPlaywright, essayist, critic and prolific novelist. Gonzalo Torrente Ballester is a key author of contemporary Spanish literature. Among the many awards he received are highlighted the National Literature Prize in 1981, the Prince of Asturias Literature in 1982 and the Miguel de Cervantes, in 1985.
