The only thing left is to celebrate life.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\r\nDavid is a successful Colombian father, painter, who left his hometown to look for a better future in The United States with his wife, Sara, and his three children: Jacobo, Pablo and Arturo.\r\n\r\nNow, old and widowed, he moves back to Colombia, and has to give up painting due to an illness that\u00b4s causing his blindness. He wants to be remembered somehow in an artistic way, so he decides to write his memoirs, with the help of \u00c1ngela, his scribe.\r\n\r\nThis way, David tells how, years ago, his family arrived in the United States and his older son, Jacobo, had a car accident that left him paraplegic and with intense pain, stopping him from having a normal life. Because of that, he decides euthanasia will be his best solution.\r\n\r\nThe night before Jacobo\u2019s death was terrible for David and his wife Sara. David, was, at the time, finishing a painting, which represented the foam formed by the propeller of a ferry in the Hudson River. He was just unable to express the light on the waves, until Jacobo\u2019s death.\r\n\r\nBeing an optimistic man, old David remembers with great pleasure his years in New York, despite everything. David also talks about how he has been losing his sight in the last years, but not his artistic skills.\r\n\r\nDavid finishes the story completely blind, but happy after finalizing his work thanks to \u00c1ngela\u2019s help, who despite her terrible spelling, is able to finish the memoirs.\r\n\r\n&nbsp;\r\n\r\n<strong>RELEVANT INFO<\/strong>: <em>The Difficult Light<\/em> has been the most recognized novel by Tom\u00e1s Gonzalez among the audience.
