He has a very far-out sense of humor, he is very ironic, cannot stop getting into all sorts of little adventures, and is obsessed with making all kinds of lists: with ideas, about his life, about his feelings, etc. During the school year, he attends a writer\u00b4s workshop that changes his life forever. \u00a0The writer talks about freedom and opportunites that come from doing what you love, and this inspires him immensely. To his parent\u00b4s dismay, Daniel realizes that he wants to be a writer. \u00a0His father begs him to study something with a future. He thinks being a writer is foolish, he says that \u201cthis country is full of idiots that don\u00b4t read\u201d. In spite of everything, Daniel visits the writer from the workshop at his house and becomes even more captivated by the idea of becoming a writer himself.\r\n\r\nDaniel feels that he also needs a sentimental education. He therefore begins a list of possible candidates that could suit him. One by one he crosses names off the list until there is one left: Berta, aka \u201cthe ugliest girl in class\u201d, but she sure does have the best smile. Berta ends up being full of surprises, and she likes to write too. Daniel is fascniated by her from the start, and love transforms him deeply. A greater force then ever pushes him towards achieving the great challenge of becoming a writer. Daniel begins writing an autobiographical novel, mentioning (among other things), his first encounters with love, the discovery of \u00a8women\u00a8, a story of how he meets a homeless man and learns from his conversations, his day to day with his parents (who love and care for him but don\u00b4t quite understand him), his classes, or his interesting encounters with Don Mariano, his literature teacher. But especially, he talks about the frustrations of being a teenager. Thanks to the mentoring of his friend the writer, he will use his personal growth and all the obstacles he faces to his advantage to write about it, and truly get to know himself more profoundly.\r\n\r\n<em>Me (Yo)<\/em> is the story of a boy who feels out of place because he doesn\u00b4t follow what his peers are doing. He only needed the love of a girl to realize that being the oddball out is actually quite attractive and normal. Daniel ends up finding his place in the world - \u00a0basking in his irony, his fantastic sense of humor and, above all, his love for writing.\r\n\r\n&nbsp;\r\n\r\n<strong>RELEVANT DATA: <\/strong>Jordi Sierra i Fabra is the most prolific author of children and young adult Spanish-speaking literature, with more than four hundred books published, and with figures so astronomical that they exceed ten million books sold.
