I\u2019m good to go.\r\n\r\nThe three families were going to a picnic.\u201d\r\n\r\nAmada, Do\u00f1a Antonia\u00b4s daughter-in-law, can see more through one eye than most people can see with two. It was torn from its socket by the jealous mistress of her husband Alberto.\u00a0Alberto was a spoiled child and a true heartbreaker. Alberto\u2019s parents, Don Pepit\u00f3n and Do\u00f1a Antonia, are to blame for his behavior. They disapprove of his relationship with Amada, and hate Amada\u2019s mother, Esperanza - the neighborhood witch-. Esperanza isn\u2019t too fond of her daughter\u2019s relationship either, but the marriage between Amada and Alberto went forward, despite Esperanza\u2019s advice and Do\u00f1a Antonia\u2019s suffocating and overly controlling influence.\r\n\r\nThese and many more make up this dysfunctional Latino family from The Bronx, where everyone is in everyone\u2019s business. Adultery and witchcraft, passions and rivalries, mystery and thrills are deeply embedded amongst the family and their neighborhood, along with everything from family feuds to births and deaths, christenings and funerals, and everything in between.\r\n\r\nLike wildfire, gossip, and speculation about the mysterious disappearance of Amada<span dir=\"RTL\">\u2019<\/span>s rival swirl around the neighborhood. Rumor has it her remains are buried, scattered in parts of Westchester County. Others swear they have seen her ghost\u2014having collected all her essential parts\u2014swimming in the river, trying to make her way back to the Bronx.\r\n\r\n&nbsp;\r\n\r\n<strong>RELEVANT DATA: <\/strong><em>The Glass Eye<\/em> is Yolanda Gallardo\u2019s successful debut novel that gives a humorous look at a Latino family\u2019s mishaps in the Nuyorican community of the Bronx.
