In Your Summers and My Winters<\/em><\/strong>, the novel explores first love\u2014the kind you never forget\u2014no matter how much Maider Azurmendi tries to leave behind everything that happened during that summer in the late 1990s with Rub\u00e9n Segura, her fellow camper.<\/p>\r\n

As children, Rub\u00e9n showed his interest in Maider in the only way he knew how: by teasing her. For Maider, Rub\u00e9n was nothing but a nuisance\u2014until the summer of 1995, when she began to develop feelings for him and to respond to Rub\u00e9n\u2019s signals.<\/p>\r\n

Their bond grew stronger over the winter through the letters they exchanged, deepening their affection for each other.<\/p>\r\n

The summer of 1998 marked a turning point. Their relationship had blossomed and matured, but everything fell apart the night they decided to lose their virginity and had an accident with the condom. Their relationship came to an abrupt end after the humiliating treatment they received from the medical staff, Maider\u2019s parents forbidding them to continue seeing each other, and the possibility that she might be pregnant.<\/p>\r\n

Maider fell into a deep depression after the incident, and two years passed before she saw Rub\u00e9n again at the camp. This time, she arrived with her new boyfriend, which triggered Rub\u00e9n\u2019s resentment. The distance and tension between the (ex-)couple only grew.<\/p>\r\n

Years later, as adults with established careers, they meet again. Maider opens up and tells Rub\u00e9n everything she went through since their breakup, but for him, it\u2019s already too late. He has just been promoted, and if he doesn\u2019t want to fail professionally again, he must move abroad. Though their love is now impossible, neither of them will ever forget the deep, passionate connection they shared during those summers.<\/p>\r\n

In Your Nights and My Days<\/em><\/strong>, Unai Azurmendi and Lorena Segarra met during a summer holiday in the 1990s at the Voramar campsite, by the Mediterranean Sea. One of those endless nights, lit only by the stars, Unai and Lorena promised to remain friends forever.
Years later, as different, more mature people, their paths cross again in the same place. The beach is still there, holding the memories and secrets that went unspoken that summer and still weigh heavily on them. But now, Unai and Lorena are no longer the same.<\/p>\r\n

And in the third installment, Your Lights and My Shadows<\/em><\/strong>, Nagore Alkorta and Xabi met one summer night at the Voramar campsite, under the spell of a love that seemed destined to last forever. He was from Navarre, an architect, with his heart still tied to another love; she was Basque, determined, with a rebellious fringe that hid her fears. Years later, Nagore is no longer the same: she\u2019s afraid of flying, works far from home, and keeps a picture of Dani Mart\u00edn in her wallet as a charm against heartbreak. Xabi has changed too, but the ghost of what they could have been still lingers as vividly as on the first day.<\/p>\r\n

They are about to meet again at the wedding of some friends, held in the place where it all began\u2014Benic\u00e0ssim. When they see each other again, Nagore and Xabi will have to face their lights and shadows, the ones that brought them together and the ones that tore them apart.
