His plays first premiered at Madrid, were then produced in the main European capitals and in the most important theatres in Latin America. <strong>Honorific Member of the Royal Spanish Academy<\/strong>, in 1918 he had a seat in the Spanish Parliament; in 1922 the Swedish Academy awarded him the <strong>Nobel Prize<\/strong> in Literature.\r\n\r\n&nbsp;\r\n\r\n<strong>INTERESTING FACTS<\/strong>\r\n\r\nIn 1947 he was named<strong> Honorific President of The\u202fInternational Confederation of Authors and Composers Societies.\u00a0<\/strong>\r\n\r\nThe Swedish Academy awarded Benavente the <strong>NOBEL PRIZE IN LITERATURE<\/strong> (1922).\r\n\r\nIn 1924 he received the keys to the city of Madrid, and the Great Cross of the Civil Order of Alfonso X, the wise.
