He is compared to Juan Mars\u00e9, Philip Roth, John Updike, Cormac McCarthy and Junot D\u00edaz. Critics have highlighted his unconventional portrait of Barcelona, his pure characters, his avoidance of clich\u00e9s and the strength of his prose, which is both profound and fast-paced.\r\n\r\n&nbsp;\r\n\r\n<strong>RELEVANT INFORMATION<\/strong>\r\n\r\nZan\u00f3n has won the <strong>Hammett Award<\/strong>, the <strong>Novepol Award<\/strong>, the <strong>Brigada Award for best crime novel of the year<\/strong> and the <strong>Valencia Negra Award for best novel of the year<\/strong>, among others. He has also been a finalist for the <strong>Silverio Ca\u00f1ada Memorial Award, Giallo e dell Noir<\/strong>, the <strong>Violeta Negra Award<\/strong> and the <strong>City of Santa Cruz Award<\/strong>.
