His work includes more than twenty books published in multiple languages and several successful television series. As an educator, he has taught screenwriting and creative writing throughout much of Latin America, as well as at universities in Mexico, Chile, the United States, the Dominican Republic, and Puerto Rico.<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span lang=\"EN-US\">Valenzuela is the creator of the hit Netflix series <i>Who Killed Sara?<\/i>, which became the platform\u2019s most successful non-English-language series in U.S. history. He has published more than thirty novels and has written thirteen television series and films in Chile, Mexico, the United States, and Puerto Rico. He was selected by <i>The New York Times<\/i>\u2019 About.com as one of the ten best young Latin American writers.<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span lang=\"EN-US\">As a screenwriter, he has received numerous awards, including <\/span><b><span lang=\"EN-US\">Best Screenwriter of the Year<\/span><\/b> <b><span lang=\"EN-US\">from the PROCO Institute of Communication<\/span><\/b><span lang=\"EN-US\"> and the <\/span><b><span lang=\"EN-US\">Diosa de Plata International Film Festival<\/span><\/b><span lang=\"EN-US\">. He was nominated for an <\/span><b><span lang=\"EN-US\">Emmy Award<\/span><\/b><span lang=\"EN-US\"> for his work on the television series <i>Amores<\/i>. His telenovela <i>La casa de al lado<\/i>, broadcast by Telemundo (the second-largest Spanish-language content provider in the United States), won \u201cBest Novela of the Year\u201d at the Miami Life Awards. His telenovela <i>Santa Diabla<\/i>, also aired by Telemundo, received the \u201cNovela of the Year\u201d award at the Tu Mundo Awards.
