He also wrote the screenplay for <i>La pena m\u00e1xima<\/i>, a feature film based on his novel of the same title, and created a series project based on another of his novels, <i>Abril rojo<\/i>. Another of his novels, <i>Pudor<\/i>, was adapted for the big screen and nominated for the Biznaga de Oro at the M\u00e1laga Film Festival. His most recent screenwriting projects include <i>Muxes<\/i> and <i>Sutura<\/i>.<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span lang=\"EN-US\">In his literary career, Roncagliolo is especially known for his suspense novels and dark humor, often grounded in rigorous historical research. He is also the author of children\u2019s books, which have received several awards and strong critical acclaim.<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span lang=\"EN-US\">As a journalist, he is the author of a trilogy of true stories about twentieth-century Hispanic America: <i>The Fourth Sword<\/i>, <i>The Uruguayan Lover<\/i>, and <i>Memoirs of a Lady<\/i>, considered \u201cthe last censored trilogy in Latin America.\u201d<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span lang=\"EN-US\">Roncagliolo\u2019s works have been widely praised by critics and translated into more than a dozen languages.
