He is the son of writer Jos\u00e9 Mallorqu\u00ed, creator of the famous literary character The Coyote (El Coyote).<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Mallorqu\u00ed studied journalism at the Complutense University, Madrid. At just seventeen years of age, he was collaborating on the very renowned magazine <em>La Codorniz<\/em>, and a few years after that he was already working as a scriptwriter for a popular radio show in <em>Cadena Ser.<\/em><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">He has an extensive career as a reporter, advertising creative and television screenwriter with various production companies. His works are influenced by great authors such as Jorge Luis Borges and Ray Bradbury, among others.<\/p>\r\n&nbsp;\r\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>RELEVANT INFORMATION<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">He has more than twenty five literary prizes, some to highlight are: the <strong>National Children and Young Adult Award<\/strong>, the <strong>Cervantes Chico Award<\/strong> for his work in the youth genre, the <strong>Edebe Young Adult Literature Award<\/strong> (won on four occasions, the <strong>Gran Angular Award<\/strong>, the <strong>White Raven Award<\/strong> (also won on four occasions) or the <strong>Hache Award<\/strong>, among others.<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">His saga <em>Las cr\u00f3nicas del par\u00e1sito (The Parasite Chronicles)<\/em> has sold over 35.000 copies just in Spain. His most famous novel, <em>Las l\u00e1grimas de Shiva (The Shiva\u2019s Tears)<\/em> is a compulsory reading in several Spanish schools and highschools and has sold over 600.000 copies \u2013an absolute long-seller\u2013.
