He studied Communication at the University of Sonora in Mexico. He is the founder of the SoNoir movement, in charge of spreading police and crime novels across the country. In the same vein, he is especially recognized for his novels, essays, and chronicles within these two genres and has been included in many anthologies in both Spain and Latin America. He was specially appraised for his literary career at the Sonora Technological Institute Book Fair. He has also worked for newspapers such as <em>Expreso<\/em> and <em>El Imparcial. <\/em>\r\n\r\n&nbsp;\r\n\r\n<strong>RELEVANT INFORMATION<\/strong>\r\n\r\nPadilla was the winner at the <strong>Libro Sonorense Competition<\/strong> in the novel, chronicle and essay categories on three different occasions. His novel <em>I am the Spider (Yo soy el ara\u00f1a)<\/em> was awarded the <strong>Nacional de Novela Negra<\/strong> <strong>\u00a8Una Vuelta de Tuerca\u00a8 Award.<\/strong> He was also the recipient of the <strong>Periodismo de Profundidad Award<\/strong> from the Inter-American Press Association for his work as a journalist.\r\n\r\n&nbsp;\r\n\r\nWhat the critics have said:\r\n\r\n\u00a8Padilla writes perfectly within the demands of the genre and tells the story with varied doses of emotion.
