Blas is the owner of an inn. He is very old and has a daughter, Mariblanca. He would like to see her getting married. Mariblanca has a boyfriend, Anselmo, who works at the inn. They are both very much in love, but Lorenzo, a mule driver that goes frequently to the inn, will do everything that is in his hand to break their relationship.
