Ildefonso Falcones is one of the most successful authors of historical fiction in the Spanish language. His novels have become an unprecedented publishing phenomenon in Spain, with millions of copies sold worldwide, translations into dozens of languages, and publication in more than forty countries.

His writing is characterized by meticulous historical research, the portrayal of major social conflicts of each era, and the creation of epic narratives featuring characters who struggle against the inequalities of their time.
