Carolin Otto

Scenic Rights is the audiovisual co-agency of Carolin Otto.

Carolin Otto graduated in Philosophy at the Munich University. She also studied Cinema Studies at the University of Television and Film Munich. While she was in college, she worked voluntarily as journalist.

She has written more than 20 scripts for different German TV channels. Among the most important ones are: Tatort, Polizeiruf and Bulle von Tölz. Particularly, Tatort became one of the most recognized German TV Series worldwide.

As film director, Carolin Otto has done two miniseries about Immanuel Kant and Hannah Arendt. Other movies she produced were Aphrodites Nacht and the documentary called Der Weisse Rabe.

 

RELEVANT DATA

Carolin Otto was a member of the board of the German Screenwiters’ Guild. Furthermore, she has also been the head of the script funding commission of Federal Filmfunding FFA.

She is currently considered one of the most respected and relevant German scriptwriters and filmmakers
