Adelais escapes into the forest after being rejected by Count Arnau. There she finds an old woman who gives her refuge in her house. Staying there, Adelais looks into the fire and has a series of visions and premonitions. The disappearance of the son of a shepherd, that Adelais had foreseen, starts the people´s revenge against the Count. Adelais, following the old woman’s advice, decides to flee while the Count´s castle burns in flame.
