Benedicat

Written by Josep Lluís and Rodolf Sirera, Benedicat is set in two historical moments and in two different places: Croatia’s Kingdom in the 40's (then a puppet regime for Fascist Italy and Nazi Germany), and Italy in the 70’s. In the first of the periods we will attend to the triumph of Croatian Utasas’ fanaticism, which will set up a regime based on extermination and terror. Captain Renzo Montale is destined to a small Croatian location under Italian control, where he will feel drawn into the universe of Antun Radic, a Franciscan priest, and will refuse to face reality. The guilt for not being able to stop a massacre from happening, and the anguish of having betrayed the hopes of his family and his religion destroys him.
