Medea’s Perversion (Perversión medea)

A prostitute, a murderer, a snob, a traitor and a drug-addict woman locked in a mental institution have to perform Medea by Euripides to prove that they are prepared to re-enter society. The tension from the confinement and the conflictive characters make everything turn wrong until a murder is committed. Using the five stages of the duel to carry the plot and combining a modern and direct language with Euripides’ classical text, the author tells the story of the five protagonists identifying each of them with a classical Greek tragic character. The author denounces how Medea, and many women since then, have attacked themselves, causing collateral victims, instead of facing the true culprit: Jason. A tragicomedy with feminist and social inclinations where the ideas of revenge, guilt and women are revised.
