Snakes and ladders (Del laberinto al 30)

Don José is a psychiatrist. One day, an outlandish man barges in and the doctor mistakes him with a patient. The individual happens to be his secretary’s boyfriend who comes in trying to sell the doctor a machine gun. The conflict between both characters gives place to a misunderstandings series that get resolved throughout the play.

RELEVANT FACTS: Using the idea of the game “chutes and ladders”, the play has an experimental structure to push the limit between an integrated being and two corrosive sons from a modern urban environment who claim their territories and survival. Taking away the underpinning of routine, habits and social rules, everything becomes faded.

Alonso de Santos is one of the most outstanding authors alive in the Spanish contemporary theatre. He has won the Max Theatre Award and the National Theatre Award more than once. Many of his plays have been taken to the big screen.
