The Millions (Los millones)

Even winning the lottery can be a complicated job.

Madrid, 1980s. Francisco is a peculiar man: he is seventeen years old, works as a waiter in a neighborhood bar, and is a member of the GRAPO – a Spanish small armed clandestine action group aiming for the formation of a Spanish Republican state created in the 1970s. His life turns upside down when he wins 200 million Spanish pesetas. However, he cannot collect them because he does not have the proper ID. In addition, due to the fact that he is involved in the armed gang, he cannot reveal his identity and he lives in hiding.

This becomes a huge problem for Francisco and the deadline to solve it, in other words, to collect the prize, is in 90 days. Approaching the building where the prizes are collected, Francisco meets Primi. Primi is an honest journalist who is precisely looking for the winner of the 200-million-euro prize and wants to publish the story in the newspaper: Current News. Between Francisco and Primi something more than a beautiful friendship will emerge.
