Santiago Lorenzo

Scenic Rights is the audiovisual co-agency of Blackie Books publishing house.

Santiago Lorenzo studied Cinematography and Screenwriting at the Complutense University of Madrid and stage direction at the Royal School of Dramatic Arts. He began a professional career in the world of film writing, directing, and producing several short films and movies like Mamá es boba and Un buen día lo tiene cualquiera. In 2007 he decided to dedicate himself to writing.

His works have had international acclaim, with publications in Italy, France, Latin America, Germany, and China. Los millones is the first novel published by Santiago Lorenzo, and before becoming a novel it was originally conceived as a film script. His book Los huerfanitos was made into a play by the theatre company Traspasos Kultur.

Santiago Lorenzo has received several distinctions such as the Best Book of the Year Award from the newspaper El Periódico, the La Sombra del Ciprés Award, the Cálamo Award for Best Book of the Year, the Los Libreros Recomiendan Award, and the Booksellers of Navarra Award. He has also won a Goya Award from the Spanish Film Academy for best animated short film.
