Alejandra Maldonado

Scenic Rights is the audiovisual co-agency of VF literary agency.

Alejandra Maldonado, born in Mexico, wanted to dedicate her life to dance and music from a very young age but, in the end, she studied Audiovisual Communications at the University Claustro de Sor Juana, in Mexico City.

She published her first story when she was 17, in the literary magazine Moho, where she also worked as an editor. In the year 2003, she got a job as a copywriter at an advertising agency, as well as a scholarship from FONCA, the National Endowment for Culture and Arts. From that moment on, Maldonado has worked for a variety of magazines, such as Playboy, Vice or Yaconic, and in anthologies, too.

The author’s literary work, especially her book Yoga y Coca, has received great critical acclaim. The magazine Newsweek has named Maldonado “one of the most notable writers in Mexican literature.”

What the critics have said:

“Alejandra Maldonado is a unique being and her originality can’t be disputed, since she, herself, is the epicenter of her stories. Her experience, her malicious testimonies, her energy and storm, her unbreakable mirror, her personality, and her knowledge of art make her an irreplaceable writer.” Guillermo Fadanelli
