Arantza Portabales

Scenic Rights is the audiovisual co-agency of Rolling Words Literary Agency.

Arantza Portabales is a Spanish writer, who graduated in Law from the University of Santiago de Compostela. Her career in the literary world began in 2013, when she began to write short theatre formats. She has published numerous novels in Gallego and Spanish, and she became popular thanks to her series Red Beauty (Belleza Roja), which has hundreds of reviews on literary platforms.

Portabales is considered one of the best-known voices of Spanish noir.

Her works, originally published in Galego and Spanish, have been translated to several languages, such as Italian, Hebrew and German. Her works have also been adapted to theatre.

Among her multiple awards, we could highlight La Voz de Galicia’s Serial Novel Award, the UNED Short Story Prize, the Barberá del Vallés Microstory Prize, the Manuel Murguía Award, and the Santiago de Compostela’s Casino Prize for Best Translated European Novel.
