Beatriz Osés

Beatriz Osés is a Spanish writer for children and young adult literature. She studied Journalism at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, and she is Spanish language and literature teacher. She collaborated for almost 20 years with several projects to encourage reading and writing. She has also participated in different lectures of the Universidad de Extremadura, Instituto Cervantes London, Universidad de Passo Fundo in Brasil or Instituto Cervantes in New Delhi, among others.

Her narrative is recognizable for having antiheroes as the main characters, sense of humor and suspense together with paranormal and dark novel elements.

Her most successful work is the Erik Vogler Saga, starred by a fifteen-year-old detective with a very particular and obsessive personality. The 8-installment saga has been a huge commercial success, with over 100 000 readers.

 

RELEVANT INFORMATION

Beatriz Osés has been awarded several times for her teaching work, as well as for her literature. Her awards include the Premio Lazarillo de Creación literaria, the Premios Joaquín Sama y Giner de los Ríos to innovative teaching, the Premio Novela Juvenial La Brújula, the Premio Edebé Infantil, and the Premio Barco de Vapor. She has been finalist several times for the Premio Edebé, and the Premio Nacional de Literatura Infantil y Juvenil. The Erik Vogler saga was a finalist for the Les Mordus du Polar de Paris award.
