Rosa Ribas is an established Spanish writer and translator living in Germany, a country where she has found much success for her noir novel. She studied Spanish Philology at the Universidad de Barcelona, where she also became a doctor in German-American History.

After years dedicated to linguistic investigation, she decided to dedicate herself to creative writing.

In 2007 she gave life to German-Spanish police inspector Cornelia Weber-Tejedor, the protagonist of a saga of four installments in which the police officer deals with a series of thrilling cases. This saga was very successful among the Spanish-speaking public, and it also found great success in the countries of Central Europe after the books were translated into German.

Rosa Ribas is a very well-known author in the world of police thrillers in Spanish, and she is the only Spanish author within the genre that has managed to find success in Central Europe.

Ribas has been awarded with many recognitions, like the Premio Brigada 21 a la mejor primera novela negra or the prestigious Premio Hammett de la Semana Negra de Gijón. Her novels have been strongly acclaimed by the critics, who praise her personal and unique style and her subtle humor.

The Cornelia Weber-Tejedor saga appeared in the bestsellers lists after its publication.

Ribas’ work has been translated into German, Catalan, English, Polish, French and Italian.
