The bewildered king’s chronicle (Crónica del rey pasmado)

At the beginning of the 17th century, the King of Spain –a young immature boy- wants to see his queen naked, even when the Church and the Government refuse this action since they see in it dark plans for the future of the Empire. The king finds the support he needs in a noble man and a Portuguese Jesuit who will help him, having the queen’s consent, on their purpose. With this argument, GTB devises a funny shape of the Spanish court, and offers as a result a picaresque story.
