Jorge Franco  is a Colombian writer, especially known for his successful novel Rosario Tijeras (1999) and Paradise Travel (2001), both adapted to cinema with great success. They have both been among the best box-office draws in the history of Colombian cinema. All Franco’s novels have been number one bestsellers in Colombia. Furthermore, they have been published in all Latin America and translated to different languages.

 

RELEVANT INFORMATION

Jorge Franco was the winner of the First Premio del Concurso Nacional de Narrativa Pedro Gómez Valderrama. He was also the winner of the First Premio del XIV Concurso Nacional de Novela Ciudad de Pereira. He received the Premio Internacional de Novela Dashiell Hammett in 2000. His most recent award is the Premio Alfaguara de Novela in 2014 for The Outside World.
